Paul | One Year Anniversary Since My Very Successful Knee Replacement Dear Dr. Vanderschmidt:
Just a quick note to say THANK YOU for doing such a great job on my knee replacement.
It will be one year tomorrow since the surgery was done, and so you know the following has been accomplished:
1. I was able to go offshore to the super complexes & Das Island from February 26th through March 3rd and conduct business, and
2. Starting on March 29 through December 17, 2011 – I have golfed 160 recordable rounds of 18-holes (my Handicap is @ 11.2)!
On the golf, I am finally rotating my hips through the ball and have had drives of up to 307 yards @ Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, for being 60 years old and having a new knee – it feels great.
Friends of mine who remember my “deformed left leg” have commented on many occasions as to how “normal” my left leg now looks, nice and straight and I walk a lot better.
I have some nerve/muscle issues with my right leg… but I think that is because it is tired… but, on the mend. Again, thank you for doing such a great job on my knee – hoping you and your family have a wonderful holiday season.

Dr. Vanderschmidt has explained the process very well - in a language understandable to patients.
The team around Dr. Vanderschmidt made me feel very comfortable during the preparation for the surgery - the whole team including the anesthetist calmed me down before the surgery started.
Dr. Vanderschmidt support did not stopped after his performance as a surgeon. He continued to be a true caretaker and also provided me with the important advise on the rehabilitation guidelines for Patellar Tendon repair.
